The Hub is an ambitious project that is transforming the first floor into an innovative new area for adult patrons. Construction began in October 2016 and, thanks to donations of all sizes and a unique public-private partnership, the renovation is well on its way to completion in the fall. We’ve re-opened a section on the east side of the building to provide access to book collections and a variety of new seating areas. Renovations continue on the west side of the building where we’re creating a Community Room, adding technology, expanding classroom space, and constructing the Café and Friends’ Bookstore.
We could not have made it this far without broad support from library patrons, the City of White Plains, civic leaders, local businesses, community partners, and the visionary anonymous philanthropists who donated $1 million to ensure the success of this project. Thank you.
